Beach Soccer Fields

The Beach House has two FIFA Beach Soccer Regulation-size fields that are available for public use. Bring your team or practice with friends. Fields are available on a first come, first served basis during the fall, winter, and spring.  Field reservations are available during the summer only. Beach Volleyball

There are five beach volleyball courts on the sand next to the Beach House. Santa Monica State Beach is widely known as one of the birthplaces of beach volleyball and has been the home of a number of the sport's champions. The Beach House courts are available to the public on a first come, first served basis during the fall, winter, and spring. Volleyball court reservations are available during the summer only.  

Beach Tennis

Beach Tennis is a fast-paced new beach sport that is quickly growing on the west coast. A combination of beach volleyball, tennis, and badminton, beach tennis is a doubles game with all volleys played completely in the air. The Beach House has a new beach tennis court that is available to the public on a first come, first served basis during the fall, winter, and spring. Equipment may be rented from Beach Rentals during the summer or borrowed from the Guest Services office during the off-season. Reservations for beach tennis courts are available during the summer only.  

Surf Instruction on Santa Monica State Beach

If you are interested in taking surf lessons on Santa Monica State Beach, please be sure that you are contacting one of the Surf Instructors permitted by the City of Santa Monica. These instructors help to maintain water safety and maximize public recreational opportunities on Santa Monica State Beach. All of the Permitted Surf Instructors have been proven to provide the safest, highest quality surf instruction available. They make every effort to help you have a great day at the beach!
